Aina's Notes

Munchlax to Snorlax?

Hi!

I am Aina. I like food, not really the pickiest eater, but still an amateur of good food. Not one for gastronomy, because to me food should be tasty and filling.

As a kid, I was very active. I could walk long trails or run as long as I knew there was food at the end or somewhere around the middle.

I had limited food choices compared to my friends. In this case, more along organic food, you name it, I most likely have eaten it raw, cooked, or whatever. One time, I managed to eat 1 kg of bananas by myself in an entire day, as a snack.

Although, whenever there was an event, marriage, party, whatever, I always found solace in the buffet. What a treat: variety of food, all colours, all cooking methods, a quantity that was difficult to find at home.

Then came fatigue. I got selective about food. I mean, when as a kid your diet is only organic food, especially in my homeland, everything from onion to banana is incomparable to what I heard my foreign friends ate, I began to choose less fatty food, less oily, sometimes tasty, other times bland, which I used to hate as a kid.

Something that also changed is my energy. I began to slow down. Before, I was eating food searching again and again for a high. I still do. Now, I just eat slowly. How is it? Bland? Hard to chew? What kind of flavor? I am by no means a culinary expert, but a seeker of pleasure through food.

Over the years, I was more likely to take a nap. I used to get up at 6 in the morning, feel energetic even at 5 in the afternoon. No need for a power nap. Now, though, with increased charges like school, care, and chores, the 2-minute power nap is really necessary.

So, I can say that I went from a Munchlax to a mini snorlax.

How are your taste in food now?
